Format:

Single Elimination

  • Teams are eliminated after one loss

  • Winning teams advance through a randomly drawn bracket

  • A 3rd place match may be played between semifinal losers

  • Forfeits result in an automatic win for the opponent

 

Team Composition:

  • Doubles teams consist of 2 players

  • Max roster size: 2 players per team

  • All teams must be single-gender only

  • All players must be registered before their first match

  • No roster changes allowed after the first match

Match Format:

  • Matches are played best of 3 games

  • Each game is played to 11 points

  • Win by 2 rule applies (e.g., 12–10, 14–12)

  • Teams switch sides after each game

  • Teams alternate serves every 2 points

  • In deuce (10–10), serve alternates every point

 

Rules of Play:

  • Standard ITTF Doubles rules apply unless modified

  • Service must go diagonally (server’s right side to opponent’s right side)

  • Players must alternate shots during a rally

    • (e.g., Player A serves, Player C returns, then Player B hits, then Player D, and so on)

  • A rally is won if the opponent fails to make a legal return

  • A let serve (ball hits net but lands legally) is replayed

  • Matches are self-officiated unless a dispute arises, in which case a neutral supervisor will step in

 

Code of Conduct:

  • Respectful and modest behavior is expected at all times

  • Only one team representative may raise disputes with the match supervisor

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct (e.g., slamming paddles, yelling, taunting) may lead to point penalties or disqualification

  • No alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances permitted

  • All decisions by the organizing committee are final

 

Uniform & Equipment:

  • Players must wear modest athletic attire

  • Tournament will provide table tennis paddles and balls

  • Players may bring their own paddles if preferred

  • Shoes must have non-marking soles to protect gym floors

 

Dispute Resolution:

  • A match supervisor will be available to resolve issues

  • Disputes must be raised immediately by a team member

  • If unresolved, the Organizing Committee will make the final decision
