OUTDOOR VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT RULES

Format: Single Elimination

Team Composition

  • Teams must be single-gender only.
  • 6 players on court per team, max roster size: 10 players.
  • All players must be registered before their first match.
  • Substitutions only allowed during breaks or in case of injury.

Tournament Format:

  • Single Elimination Teams are eliminated after one loss.
  • Winning teams advance to the next round.
  • Bracket will be created based on a random draw.
  • A 3rd place match may be played between semifinal losers. In case of a forfeit, the opponent automatically advances.

Match Format

  • Matches are played best-of-three sets:
    • Set 1: 25 points
    • Set 2: 25 points
    • Set 3 (if needed): 15 points
  • Win by 2 points in all sets
  • Rally scoring system
  • 1 timeout per team per set (30 seconds)

Rules of Play

  • No mixed-gender teams
  • A neutral match supervisor will monitor the game, record scores, and help resolve disputes
  • No double touches (a player cannot touch the ball twice consecutively unless the first is a block)
  • No net contact by any player
  • A ball that lands on the boundary line is considered in
  • Proper rotational order must be followed
  • Standard volleyball rules apply except where modified

Code of Conduct

  • Respectful behavior is expected at all times
  • Only team captains may communicate disputes to the match supervisor
  • Disruptive, aggressive, or unsportsmanlike behavior may lead to point penalties or disqualification
  • No alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances allowed at the venue

Equipment & Uniform

  • All players must wear appropriate modest workout attire.
  • Sports shoes suitable for outdoor surfaces are required (no cleats or spikes).
  • Tournament will provide official volleyballs.
  • Players should bring water and wear sun protection.

Dispute Resolution

  • Match supervisors oversee scorekeeping and fair play
  • Any disputes must be raised immediately by team captains
  • If unresolved, the organizing committee’s decision is final
